Valerie is 20 years old and came to Green River Community College two years ago. “When I first arrived, I was very shy. The faculty and staff here at Green River encouraged me to talk to lots of people. By my second quarter at Green River, I had determined to transform myself into an active student leader. I now live my college life in the front row by getting involved and gaining leadership skills.”
Valerie is currently the President of the Vietnamese Student Association, the office Manager/Promotions Coordinator for Community, Leadership, Education and Outreach (CLEO) program, and serves on the Judical Board for Student Government. She does all this and still manages to maintain a 3.89 GPA.
Valerie will be graduating this spring. Her goal is to major in international business and transfer to Temple University in Pennsylvania. She wants to experience the East Coast of the United States.
Valerie said, “I love the classes here. The class sizes are small and the teachers are friendly. Green River offers many opportunities, not only academically but also in leadership. Green River has a great leadership program. I have learned many valuable lessons in life here and the people are awesome!”
